BIOGRAPHY

Louisa Rocha is the 1st Prize Winner of the International Padova Music Competition in Italy, the 1st Prize Winner of the International Competition of Fundão, Portugal and prize winner of the Virtuoso International Competition of Padova, in Italy. She has also won the “Special Prize” at the International Music Competition “Triomphe de L’art” in Bruxelles, in the category of Chamber Music.
She started her studies at the National Conservatory in Lisboa, Portugal where she graduated with excellency.

Louisa played solo recitals in Romania, France, Bruxelles, Spain, The Netherlands and Portugal. In 2013 she was laureate at the National Music Competition “Gilberta Paiva” in Portugal and won the Prize from Inatel Foundation for the best student of the Conservatory of Lisbon.

Louisa has her own class in Amsterdam, she is a very dedicated and passionate teacher.

She was selected to participate in the best Youth Orchestras in the world including: Orchestre des Jeunes de la Mediterranée (OJM) as well as the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra, the NJO (National Joung Orchestra of the Netherlands) and the World Peace Philharmonic Orchestra. Louisa worked under the guidance of renowned conductors such as: Vladimir Jurowsky, Christoph Eschenbach, Krysztof Urbanski etcetera.

Performing concerts in Tunisia, France, Italy, Germany and Denmark. She was selected and took part in the International Mendelssohn Festival in Hamburg, as well as the renowned Moritzburg Festival in Germany and the Davos Festival in Switzerland.

Louisa performed at the String Quartet Biennale in Amsterdam, opening the concert of the Casals Quartet. She is part of the Netherland String Quartet Academy (NSKA), she also plays with Iberio Duo where she performed at the National Dutch Radio and performs actively in Spain, Portugal and The Netherlands with her pianist Daniel Pacho.

Louisa is currently studying baroque violin under the guidance of Shunske Sato and modern violin under the guidance of Liviu Prunaru at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam.
